PETE BIANCHI

Lion Pete was a member of Lions Clubs International for more than 59 years.  In 1966, he transferred his membership to the Annandale Lions Club, where he was an active member until his death.

He was the first, and for many years the only, driver and technician for the District 24-A Mobile Sight and Hearing Screening Van.  Thousands of residents of Northern Virginia had visual acuity, glaucoma, and hearing problems identified by Lion Pete in this capacity.

He also was active in the Annandale Lions Club's annual pancake breakfast project, where his skills and long experience as a successful restaurateur were tested by amateurs manning the hot griddle.

We offer our deep sympathy to his family for their loss but are also thankful for having known and worked with Pete to make Annandale a better place.  In recognition of his lifelong service to the community , Lion Pete was awarded a Melvin Jones Fellowship, the highest honor bestowed on its members by Lions Clubs International.
