Lions Clubs throughout Northern Virginia built a townhouse on Stevenson Street in Fairfax for and with a family in our community.  The site is between Jermantown Road and Shirley Gate Road just north of Lee Highway, west of Camp Washington.  Habitat for Humanity is coordinating the effort to construct 18 townhomes on the site, and our Club helped build one of the end units in the northeast corner of the development.

Construction began in earnest on Saturday, September 8, 2001, and  continued every Saturday and Wednesday until all the units were finished.  The final project activity was to help the family purchasing the home to move in on August 1, 2002.  To learn more about Habitat for Humanity of Northern Virginia, visit their website.
